La Forge
We head to La Forge for a particularly refined and romantic Italian dinner. Chef Paolo is a friend, and I love his sophisticated approach to Italian cuisine. The wines are delicious, and the pasta is to die for.
My decor addresses
I love treasure hunting, going to flea markets, and the St Tropez market, where there are some nice exhibitors with a selection of vintage objects and small furniture.
Sunday's must-do
Le Jas des Roberts is the flea market where you can come back with garden furniture, a tea set, pruning shears, or a rug. My advice: don't go with a specific idea in mind; let yourself be surprised. The more you search, the less you find. Trust me, a seasoned hunter. It's the Sunday essential. To my great regret, I never get up early enough, so when I come back empty-handed, I blame myself. I've found wonders there (a garden swing, candlesticks, a Vallauris lemonade set, antique tablecloths...) it's a must-see for locals and a walk for my 4-year-old son, for whom I often bring back a small toy.
The Institution
Club 55 on Pampelonne beach is a classic. I feel right at home there; I admire the Colmont Family's entire approach to preserving the soul of the place and offering good local products. The Colmonts love their work and their land, and that's the most important thing. The cuisine is unpretentious, fresh, and delicious, and the shop is full of treasures. For us, it's the authentic Pampelonne beach, where you're always well received and where nothing changes, for the better.
My seafood spot
Chez Camille in Bonne Terrasse. It's an institution that serves fish, an incredible bouillabaisse, and sublime lobster pasta. We're far from the bling-bling beaches of St Tropez here. No music, a breathtaking view, and a delight every visit.
The best tart in the world
Les Deux Frères pastry shop makes my ideal apricot tart: thin and caramelized, it's flawless, and everyone knows that no matter how much effort you put into trying to recreate it, you can't come close to this one.
My secret spot
Few people know Black Foot Sister, a small vintage shop in St Tropez that offers a super curated selection of "americana" style second-hand clothes; I've found superb rare LEVI'S jeans, western petticoats, incredible faded sweatshirts, and sublime t-shirts, etc. The owner is passionate about her work and knows perfectly what she's talking about when she has a quality piece in her hands.
The florist of Ramatuelle
Hidden in the narrow, flower-filled streets of the village, this small shop is run by a Professor Tournesol who has a selection of fresh flowers of the day, almost self-service in the cold room once you're a regular. It's irresistible and truly picturesque. His adorable wife next door sells amazing soaps, including one that removes all stains—I bless her for this discovery.
Gas Bijoux
I have always associated Gas Bijoux with St Tropez. The brand, born in Marseille, embodies the entire DNA of the South. The jewelry is colorful, fun, sometimes completely wild. It's rare to find nothing there; I even think it's mission impossible. I go every summer since... well, always, actually. Special mention to their enormous chain necklaces.
